Well, thanks to the gracious hosts and patrons of both IMDb and Fark, the complete tally for released numbers has surpassed 200! Cheers, adulation, glory, etc.! The number 200 went to a grade four student just outside of Huston, Texas. His, or her, teacher requested a number for every student in her class, now that’s what I call enthusiasm! And its nice to see people getting kids involved. Whether its parents, or in this case teachers, the response so far has been extremely positive.
As for how to ultimately reach the goal number, well, that will be a direct result of how many people actually know of the project. Which is why I suggest that anyone with an understanding of social link sites should post there. There are more of those type of sites than I ever realised (one news article I read yesterday must’ve had 30+ different ways to share the article) and there’s no way I could post an interesting link to them all, or even a handful, as that whole thing is something I’ve never had to deal with or even understand before.
The one’s I’ve heard of are del.icio.us, Furl, um… there’s Digg, with those little “dig this” icons on the side of pages. But there are also more, things that people go to who won’t have a chance otherwise to know of the project. And thats who I want to be a part of it, people who haven’t actively sought out an art project, people who think yeah, I could do that. The people who have responded so far have all been immensely interesting and varied, they’ve all been incredible and seeing the artworks makes it even more of a positive thing. So if anyone would like to spend a minute writing about this somewhere, please do. It’d be the best thing you could do.
