The Count High project is failing. There are not enough numbers going out. Not nearly enough. That means I am doing things wrong. Waiting for momentum to build has not worked, in fact, the opposite happened. In the first week, more numbers went out than over the last month. There has been a drastic drop in requests and something needs to be done about it.
I have some ideas, but they are a small fraction of the ideas which could be thought. Give me ideas, post in the comments, email in - everything needs to be done to make this a success, so even if you think “He’ll never go for this idea” send it in anyway because I’ll do it. I’ll post to that art forum, I’ll write to that radio show. In case you’re wondering, I did write to David Attenborough.
So you tell me. What’s your idea?
I think you should hit elementary schools through college and then I think the project will explode. School is letting out for the summer but perhaps after the hiatus you can get art students involved from elementary through college.
Just a thought.

Good thinking. Give me the names of some of the schools in your area and I’ll hit them up before school breaks. Particularly arty schools, but most (if not all) schools have an art department now days. Good thinking, I’ll get right on that.

You need to get your blog better known in various social circles. I’ve posted again at the 3DCommune but there are also sites like DevianArt and Renderosity where you could ask for numbers. Entrecard would get your site noticed on other blogs. You could start a Yahoo! or Google group.

How about a Youtube video talking about the project and show some images?

As someone about to finish a graphic design course, this would have made a great typography project. Trouble is, the colleges are all breaking up for the summer soon, so don’t expect anything from them before September or October. If you contact the colleges now though, you should have enough time to persuade lecturers to take part. It would be an ideal little warm-up project for the start of the autumn semester. Stress the fact that you’re a real-life client and getting involved would look great on the students’ job applications.
Also, Email a press release to any arts/graphics/typography magazines and websites you can find, I’m sure they’d love to promote you.
