What do I do?
Posted by Adam R. Box on April 19th, 2008Basically, to be a part of Count High, these are the things you need to do.
1) Email
with a request for a number. “I want a number” is a fairly straight forward thing to say. Say something else while you’re at it, if you like.
2) I’ll reply with a number. This is your individual, unique number. No other number is like it. You need to make an artwork out of it. Any medium, any style. Crayon, pencil, carefully positioned string, an etch-a-sketch, a giant crop circle-style, a pixelart cartoon - anything you like. As long as it can be photographed and emailed back. The size of your image is up to you, but people seem to like 1024×768 or 800×600. These are serving suggestions only. Like I say, its up to you. (update: The Koosie Rule now states that the number can be forward, backward, upsidedown or whatever as long as - in its most prominete form in the image - it is forward and clearly legible.)
3) Once you’ve sent the image back to me, either via email or by emailing a link to the image you’ve hosted somewhere, then you sit back and relax. Either that, or send a link to the site anywhere you want. Even in inappropriate situations. To websites, to message boards, to friends, family, local schools. The more people like you who contribute, the better - it will only work with contributions.
4) Then, after a full year (ending on April 13, 2009) the project will end. Outstanding numbers will be wrangled and the final result - whatever that happens to be - will be compiled into a film, and you will literally see all the numbers counting, counting, counting high.
